Project Type:

Kanata
Hospitality

The TownePlace Suites in Kanata is a modern extended-stay hotel that blends thoughtful architectural detailing with contemporary functionality. The building's massing emphasizes rhythm and repetition, with window placements and façade articulation designed to enhance visual order. A dynamic contrast of smooth EIFS panels and horizontal siding defines the upper levels, while a solid dark masonry base grounds the structure and provides textural balance. Bold colour blocking – particularly the red vertical accent element that marks the main entrance – creates a strong visual identity while aligning with the Marriott brand. Inside, the space planning is efficient and modular, evident in the early construction images showing clear corridor sightlines and mechanical integration. Ground-floor glazing and canopy projections create an inviting pedestrian interface, and exterior features such as accessible ramps and landscaped setbacks ensure both functionality and curb appeal. Designed to meet the needs of both business and leisure travelers, this project reflects a disciplined yet welcoming architectural approach.
